Step 3: Import or add your contacts

To Add Your Contact:
  • Log in to Marketing.Pro and click on “Contacts” located on the left of your screen.
  • Under “Contacts,” click on “Add Contact.”
  • Enter contact information in the fields provided (You must provide at least a first name and last name) and once complete, click on “Save”

Once saved you will be able to add emails, physical addresses, phone numbers, family members, etc., as well as include them in Active Campaigns and Groups.

To import your contacts:
  • Log in to Marketing.Pro and click on “Contacts” located on the left of your screen.
  • Under “Contacts,” click on “Import Contacts.”
  • The page that follows includes instructions importing contacts for most Client Relationship Managers (CRMs); click on the appropriate “Click Here” button and follow the instructions provided. If your CRM is not listed, you will want to locate their specific exporting instructions (usually provided on their website) or contact their support team for assistance.

NOTE: All files must be submitted in a .CSV or .XLS (Excel spreadsheet) format.


Cleaning Up Your Contacts:

Marketing.Pro’s Custom Template will assist you in dividing your contacts into appropriate columns, enabling you to upload properly.

To download the Custom Template:
  • Click on “Contacts” and then “Import Contacts.”
  • Scroll down to For All Other Programs and click on "Click Here."
  • Under Step One, click on “Download Custom Template.” (This will download the template to your hard drive.)

Once you have downloaded the Custom Template, transfer the contact information into the appropriate columns. Be sure to add, edit, or delete contacts, as needed, and save your file once complete.

NOTE: If you would like to divide your contacts into GROUPS, just make a different spreadsheet for each group.

Uploading Your Contacts:

To upload your contacts:
  • Click on “Contacts” and then “Import Contacts.”
  • Select your Client Relationship Manager (CRM) and click “Click Here.”
  • If your files are edited and saved, scroll down to Step Two and click on “Upload File.”

IMPORTANT: Do not send these files via email as this is not a secure way to transfer the data.
